Dragonfly Habitat Bank Featured on BBC’s Countryfile in Collaboration with Cameron Homes

Dragonfly Habitat Bank, part of the Tara Group, recently gained national attention on BBC’s Countryfile for its pivotal role in providing offset solutions for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).

The episode, filmed earlier this year, showcased the work taking place on Dragonfly’s habitat bank land at Wood End, adjacent to Cameron Homes’ Oak View development in Warwickshire.

This 10-hectare site, managed and monitored by Dragonfly, is part of a broader initiative to meet new BNG regulations through off-site habitat creation. The project at Wood End will deliver 82 BNG habitat units, including woodlands, grasslands, and enhanced hedgerows, all designed to uplift regional biodiversity.

Dragonfly’s involvement underscores their expertise in providing immediate, compliant BNG solutions, making it easier for developers to meet DEFRA requirements.

With over 600 BNG units already delivered, Dragonfly continues to lead in sustainable development, ensuring that projects like Cameron Homes' not only comply with regulations but also contribute positively to the environment.

Kate Tait, Group Land and Planning Director at Cameron Homes, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to showcase our new BNG habitat creation scheme on BBC’s Countryfile.

“We extend our gratitude to Warwickshire County Council for their collaborative efforts in overseeing the scheme and coordinating the management of biodiversity loss.

“Through diligent monitoring and proactive measures, the habitat bank will not only minimise the impact of development, but also contribute to an increase in the biodiversity value, compared to pre-development levels.”

This collaboration between Dragonfly and Cameron Homes demonstrates the commitment to innovative, sustainable solutions across their projects, reinforcing their role as a leader in environmental stewardship.
