Dragonfly Habitat Bank confirms Conservation Covenant with Warwickshire County Council. 

Dragonfly Habitat Bank has confirmed the registration of its Wood End site in North Warwickshire, which has previously featured BBC Countryfile, and now secured under a Conservation Covenant with Warwickshire County Council. 

Located in the Arden National Character Area, the bank is strategically positioned to support developers, housebuilders, and local authorities across Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull, Warwick District, and the wider Midlands. As the site falls within Arden, projects in these local authorities face no Spatial Risk Multiplier, simplifying compliance with Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) regulations. 

Wood End will deliver a mix of broadleaf woodland, neutral grassland, and species-rich hedgerows with trees, all legally protected and monitored for the long term. 

“Securing Wood End under a Conservation Covenant is a major step in ensuring developers across the Midlands can meet BNG obligations while creating meaningful habitats that last,” said Steve Brown, BNG Lead at Dragonfly Habitat Bank. 

Councillor Darren Cheshire, Warwickshire County Council Portfolio Holder for Environment, Heritage and Culture, said: “The launch of the Wood End Habitat Bank is a fantastic example of how we can work with partners to deliver real biodiversity improvements and support the principles of Biodiversity Net Gain.
